We fish with a vision and are careful not taking out fish of the ocean for the whole pueblo every day. We also shoot less than the law allows us to. Species like Parrot Fish, even though pretty tasty, we leave in the water. Then Lion Fish came…
Years ago people just killed this invasive specie. But the SpearfishingToday team found out pretty soon that Lion Fish Tacos are really tasteful. Now in Cozumel, it is not uncommon to get Lion Fish filets served in a restaurant. Great development.
This week I went out on a trip and found an area with lots of Lion Fish. There were young spearos on the boat with us and shooting Lion Fish in the Caribbean is more fun than PS3. Jaja… So a couple of dives with the youngsters and there was enough Lion Fish on the table to feed the family. A great activity to diving down between 10 and 20 ft and get fresh fish with a speargun. Give it a try, It is great!
