What an amazing day!!!! I am Tim and together with Anibal, Leo and Dani, I went out on a training trip for one day. It’s a blast to see people experience spearfishing for the first time or join spearos as they shoot big fish and watch them smile, but it is also good to train and focus on your own skills. What we do looks easy, but for sure needs training. We mainly train on fishing… To find spots, look at behavior of fishes and how not to get them, jaja.
The first reef we hit there were at least 8 decent size Barracudas and boom…Anibal went down right away and got one. Fish on the boat… 🙂
We kept hunting and saw some decent fish (Triggerfish, Barjack, a few Mackerel) but we were hunting for something special now.
Leo was using his pole spear (nice to see you training old man, jaja) and got a good sized snapper…so that left me with no fish yet.
We came up on a reef with a ton of fish (rainbow runner, barracuda, jacks, etc) but there was one big one kind of away from the rest. At first we all thought it was a Grouper because of the fins…but it wasn’t. Turns out it was a Cobia… 🙂
The other guys had fish so they let me take a shot…. had a good shot in the head and stunned it for a few seconds. Fortunately Anibal was there for a second shot and Leo had the video rolling.
Great day…. and great tasting fish! Keep watching our videos, my Cobia will be in it!
