Spearfishing in the Caribbean part of Mexico is a wonderful experience for young and old; read some words about Spearfishing Cozumel and Playa del Carmen we recently did. Of course we also do depart from Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Tulum, though this a very nice write up of “how it really” is Spearfishing in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen.
“My family and I have spearfished many years and have gone on trips out of Cozumel but had the opportunity to do a trip in Playa Del Carmen this last time. Leo and Diego were unbelievably helpful from how to take the ferry from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen, to how to make it easily to the boat and prepare for our day. Diego is an outstanding spearo. Respectful, helpful, enjoyable, and nothing short of brilliant in making the trip about the customer from fish to learning more about this amazing sport. The weather was not ideal and Diego and crew went far and beyond by helping my youngest son, who felt sick from the waves, and wife get to a beach to relax on while we finished the diving trip, Diego then blew my mind by carrying my young son on his back to the boat through surf, when the fishing was done. Safety is first and from dive buddy systems to getting in and out of the boat, there is no shortage of that being true with this crew.
You simply do not find service like this very easily so anyone interested should be lining up to take trips with them. Fishing was outstanding for the conditions as well. We were successful on Barracuda, saw massive school of horse eyes and permits, and had multiple changes at reef fish like mutton snapper and black grouper.
You will not regret this trip. It’s worth three times the cost and you’ll be begging to get back as quick as possible for the next trip.”
