These words are not about Tequila. Sorry, jeje. It´s about the different kind of shots we make in the ocean.
There are good shots. Some fish you wanna shoot in the head. Some fish you wanna shoot in the tale. Simply to make the fight easier. We will tell you “good shot amigo”.
Then we have bad shots. Like the one on the picture. I made this shot myself. Really bad or not? I was in an area with strong current. Depth 50ft. Looking for some good fish in a sunken sailboat. Prepared the dive well, let the current take me to the little sailboat and was able to hold it for a couple of seconds to look for lunch. Nada. Then behind me I felt something was watching me. This Barracuda. I decided to go for it. So I let go of the sailboat, the current took me, the Barracuda swam away from me. I had to take the shot against the current, me moving fast into the opposite direction. And on top of that, the Barracuda did not give me a broad side to shoot it. So…. of course on the boat: “bad shot Leo, wow, really bad shot”. Well.. first of all, I have fresh fish for lunch, you don´t, hihi, sooooooo no right to speak. Second, given the circumstances actually it is a great shot.
Stone shots. A shot to stone the fish. Hit the spine and you wont have troubles getting the fish on the boat.
Lucky shots. Do they exist? Well…. I personally believe that luck comes out of knowledge, hard working/training and focussing. And in my eyes a real lucky shot is when you close your eyes, shoot in the dark and come up with a fabulous catch. Shot. Shot. Shot.
